Studio
A practice, not a showroom.
Edit House is a small, by-referral studio of staging and interior design based in Southern California. We work with a limited number of private clients and listings each quarter.

A letter from the founder
I started Edit House after fifteen years of working on other people’s projects — a portion of them extraordinary, a larger portion compromised by a kind of decorating that I could not defend. I wanted a studio small enough to refuse the wrong work and patient enough to do the right work well.
We are, for that reason, deliberately small. We are paid for our judgement, not for the square footage we cover. What you see on this site is the whole of the practice — there is nothing larger behind it.
How we work
Four ideas the studio returns to, every time.
01 — Restraint
The best version of any room is almost always the one with one fewer thing in it. We remove before we add.
02 — Architecture first
We design for the bones of a space — proportion, light, the walls that are already there — and let the furniture follow.
03 — Quiet materials
Linen, plaster, oak, wool. Honest surfaces, chosen for how they will age, not how they will photograph next Tuesday.
04 — A short list
We accept a limited number of engagements each quarter. That limit is a feature, not a constraint we hope to outgrow.
